I do not like food. I love food. I watch it on TV, I read it in books, I stare through the windows of bakeries, swoon when I smell a restaurant nearby. I have an image in my mind of me wearing an old-fashioned frilly apron, bending down to pull a pan out of the oven. I frost a cupcake. I set fresh bread in the window. What's stopping me from having my own bakery someday? Baking experience for one. I've made the cookie or boxed cake here and there, but I want to try my hand at everything, and try it from scratch. So, I give myself this challenge: bake something everyday. Yes, it can be someone else's recipe, as I'm doing this to introduce myself to baking. My problem with this "bake everyday" thing is that I am a college student. I have little time and little money, which makes baking everyday an unrealistic goal. Thus, I have decided to bake something every week for as long as I am in school. We'll see what happens after that.
On a side note, I realize "a bake a day" sounds like I'm promoting the legalization of marijuana, but I am not. I also realize that "bake a day" and "Everyday Oven" are not all that applicable since I am not actually baking everyday, but "Weekly Oven" doesn't have as much of a ring to it. And what would my tagline be? "A bake a week keeps your colon weak?"
